Mission and Approach

Through a multi-regional clinical trials network, we develop new medicines and diagnostic, prevention, and therapeutic methods in Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases, Noncommunicable Diseases, Neglected and Rare Diseases, and lifestyle practices to improve global health.

• We continue to develop a human network for international cooperative clinical research by hiring international talent who build a collaborative platform with Asian and other global base facilities.
• In collaboration with public organizations, we prepare systems to support collaborative research with counterpart medical institutions which strongly support international development of medical care in Japan and its partners.
• Through the NCGM International Infectious Disease Forum, we regularly and actively share information with companies that develop new drugs and equipment for Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases and work to strengthen partnership between Government, Industry, and Academia.
