INTRODUCTION

BACKGROUND

Despite the surge of digitalization, many are still cut off from its benefits such as the less developed parts of the world.

In a resource limited setting, issues of connectivity and electric power are still substantial particularly in poor and remote areas. Moreover, regulatory authorities and researchers in LMIC may still be left behind being unfamiliar with these technologies.

In this symposium we will discuss the readiness of LMICs for the use of digital tools in clinical trial operations and how to
benefit from its myriad advantages despite the challenges.

OBJECTIVES

This Symposium is to discuss from clinical researchers' perspective:

  1. The barriers and challenges in low-middle income countries for implementation of digital tools in clinical trials
  2. Digital tools prospects to enhance clinical trials operations in LMIC
  3. LMIC readiness for digital transformation in clinical trial operation
