INTERNATIONAL INFECTIOUS DISEASES FORUM (IIDF)

INTRODUCTION

The National Center for Global Medical Research (NCGM) exchanges information and views on infectious diseases in Japan and overseas. This is being carried out as part of activities aimed at promoting the development and dissemination of drugs and medical devices for infectious diseases that pose an international threat.

This forum aims to be an “public-private-acdemia collaboration that connects to the world” and we would like to invite even more organizations and related parties to join the forum.

The forum reports on the latest information in Japan and overseas on infectious diseases, infection control and prevention, trends in public-private-academia collaboration activities in these fields, and clinical studies and trials utilizing our international network.

ACTIVITY CONTENTS

1. Sharing information and exchanging opinions on emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases and drug resistance in Japan and overseas at participating corporations, etc.
2. Coordination of joint research between members of this forum and NCGM regarding the promotion of development of pharmaceuticals and medical devices including drugs, vaccines, and diagnostic products.
3. Promotion of research and development utilizing the international joint clinical research platform.
